Inspired by the traditional Finnish "Mummunhammas", meaning "Grandmother's Tooth", this compact knife honours a time when elderly Finns carried a small, practical knife for preparing food and handling everyday tasks. Roselli continues this tradition with a handcrafted knife that combines timeless Nordic heritage with modern outdoor performance.
Compact, lightweight and remarkably versatile, the Grandmother knife is designed to be the knife you'll always want to carry. Whether you're preparing food around camp, carving wood, opening packages, gathering kindling or handling countless everyday outdoor tasks, its practical size makes it an effortless companion wherever you go.
The blade is handcrafted from drop-hammer forged carbon steel using Roselli's traditional forging process. By compressing the steel structure, this time-proven method creates a blade with excellent toughness, durability and long-lasting performance. Hardened to approximately 60 HRC, it offers an outstanding balance between sharpness, strength and ease of sharpening, making it equally suited for everyday use and outdoor adventures.
The ergonomic handle is crafted from Finnish curly birch and treated with linseed oil to provide a secure and comfortable grip, even in wet or cold conditions. Every handle features its own natural grain, making each knife unique.
The knife is supplied with a handcrafted sheath made from vegetable-tanned Finnish leather, designed for safe carry and years of dependable use. Like the knife itself, the leather develops character and beauty over time.
Handmade in Harmoinen, Finland, and built according to Roselli's "One Knife for Life" philosophy, the Grandmother knife is a timeless companion that celebrates Finnish tradition while meeting the demands of modern outdoor life.
